Excellent treatment for my Volvo from the Service Dept here.  The fault was diagnosed and then a repair was done, charging me just for labour (£114) instead of a completely new part at £650 + VAT.

I have only had my 68 registration Volvo XC60 D5 Inscription Pro since late last year, when I bought it approved used from the Volvo Selekt scheme.

Recently I have had an ongoing issue with a loud clunking and knocking noise coming from the underside of the car. As it was intermittent it was difficult to work out what the issue was.

I took the car to two separate garages near to where I live and both of them were unable to diagnose a fault. Looking online I saw several posts on social media that recommended the John Holland Service department and, in particular Gary and Simon.

After an initial inquiry they invited me to visit so they could inspect my vehicle and, after some time, were able to demonstrate that the O/S front shock absorber had failed. Thankfully this was covered on the Selekt Warranty and, as John Holland have Volvo Master Technicians and use OEM parts, I was able to have the work authorised here rather than at a Main Dealership. As my local main dealership (TMS Leicester) had been next to useless, this was ideal.

I am writing this now having had all of this work completed, as well as the VCM battery changed, and the 8th major service and transmission service completed. They even checked over my panoramic roof for me and flushed the seals, at no extra charge. Not to mention a really good quality wash and valet.

Both Gary and Simon were an absolute pleasure to deal with during the maintenance work and are an absolute credit to John Holland - what an amazing showroom that is by the way!! Not a bad way to spend an hour looking around, I can tell you.

I will definitely be returning for any further bits and pieces and maintenance work. A good garage like this is as rare as hens teeth. Thank you again guys.

Massive thank you to Gary/Simon and the guys. Volvo v40 r line engine management light came on. Took it to local garage who had a look at it and suggested an auto electrician. Contacted John holland . Fault traced to high pressure fuel pump, had one fitted at an economical and affordable price. God bless you guys I will definitely be back for servicing in the future, fantastic customer service. It's a pleasure to deal with a company that appreciates its customers. Our son came here for a diagnostics on his Volvo car. At short notice he was able to have it done at a reasonable price which enabled him to get work done elsewhere to pass his MOT.
